About
Us
Manjimup Education Support Centre (Manjimup ESC or MESC) is an Independent Public School. Manjimup ESC is a Kindergarten to Year 12 education support centre located in Manjimup which caters for students with intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities, sensory impairments (vision and hearing), and/or autistic spectrum disorders. Our school personalises learning for each student, working closely with families and support agencies to plan pathways for students, to Vocational and Independent Living. Parents and families are the pivotal partners in meeting the educational needs of our students. We build positive relationships with parents in educational planning through a range of formal and informal processes. With over thirty years’ experience in serving families in the Warren Blackwood, the school currently has 25 students, with intensive staff support and class sizes averaging eight students.
The school is a ‘school within a school’, sharing school community and campus life with Manjimup Primary School and Manjimup Senior High School. Students have individually targeted plans and intensive mentoring with small class groups. The school focuses on what students can do and are committed to seeing students prosper economically, being happy and secure in themselves and ready to contribute to their local community. Bus services from regional areas are accessible through the Public Transport Authority.
Manjimup ESC students develop key skills in employability, develop character and resilience through class and curriculum programmes, excursions and camps. Students participate in micro-enterprises that teach independence and teamwork, working alongside industry skilled mentors. The School delivers innovative programs and works closely with Support Agencies. Manjimup ESC is an ASDAN registered school. We have a strong reputation for providing a high quality education for students whose needs are high and complex. Our aim is to provide a supportive engaging and specialist environment in which students are prepared to move “Forward with Confidence”.
