Business Enterprise

MESC has its very own business enterprise called Coffee Delights. This enterprise provides our students with a real life customer service experience, with challenges but in a safe and supported environment. It provides an insight in what it takes to run a business. Our students have evolved the enterprise over the years and have recently re-designed enterprise branding. New uniforms with Coffee Delights branding were purchased in 2021 as was an additional coffee machine. Coffee Delights allows for many aspects of our ASDAN units to be completed.

It requires students to work on

  • Communication skills;
  • Presentation skills
  • Numeracy skills
  • Food technology skills
  • Independence skills
  • Vocational skills
  • Health and safety in the workplace

Programs

A variety of short-duration and one-off activities complement the learning framework at Manjimup ESC. This includes services of Fishability via their Busselton Jetty School Program, tailored specifically for Education Support Centres to enable students to experience recreational fishing in a safe environment. The school also participates in Bunbury’s Rotary Sail into Life program which aims to provide everyone with the opportunity to experience the joy and freedom of sailing, regardless of their abilities. Students at MESC have partnered with Imperials Football club and Manjimup’s Lions Club to organise cans and bottle as part of the Containers for Change initiative.

Students in Year 1-7 attend swimming lessons at the Manjimup’s Aquatic Centre every year.
